Marciano Estate Cabernet Souvignon 2018 (96-98 JD)
Marciano Estate represents, quite simply, the best wine that we produce each vintage. Letting the vineyard mature and allowing the site to express itself through the land, geology, and the soils creating a perfect balance. Produced in quantities dictated solely by quality, Marciano Estate showcases years of striving for what can only be called a beautiful expression of a singular vineyard.
Harvested between September 18th to October 7th, all of our grapes are hand- picked at night to keep the fruit chilled, then gently hand-sorted, fermented, barrel- aged 22 months in French oak barrels, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. An impressive dark red ruby burgundy color, intensely aromatic with great complexity, boasting rich aromas of dark cocoa, espresso, graphite, anise, black fruits, and ripe summer berries.
On the palate, it offers soft tannins, building to a densely focused, well-structured dry mid- palate, layered with flavors of creamy chocolate, ripe blackberries, blueberries, black cherry, licorice, and vanilla. The finish is lingering, fresh and luscious, while refined and elegant. This 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is exceptionally generous in its youth with 1-2 hours decanting. Highly recommend cellaring to allow a beautiful bottle bouquet development. Ageability 25+ Years.
