Famiglia Cotarella Montiano 2018 from Falesco, Lazio, Italy, displays a deep ruby red hue alongside complex aromas of red berries, spices, and subtle vanilla. This full-bodied wine offers elegance on the palate and a lingering finish, making it an ideal companion to meat dishes.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The Famiglia Cotarella 2018 Montiano Cotarella shows a profound and deep personality with generous richness and concentration. Despite that supple approach, I would say that this vintage does not reach the level of fruit sharpness that we see in the exceptional 2019 vintage also reviewed in this report. Thanks to 12 to 14 months in medium-toast barrique, the tannins are sweet and add lasting structure.
James Suckling
A medium-to full-bodied red with aromas of spiced plums, cherries, anise, balsamic and sweet tobacco. Firm, creamy tannins frame a plush core of dark fruit with rich spice notes on the finish.
