A First Classified Growth of Saint-Emilion, Chateau Valandraud shines bright among the most beautiful estates of the appellation.
The vineyard
The Chateau Valandraud vineyard stretches over 12 hectares of vines in production, planted in clay-limestone and siliceous-gravelly soils. 7 hectares of vines are dedicated to the production of the Saint-Emilion Premier Grand Cru Classe Chateau Valandraud 2019. The vines are 30 years old on average. The grape varieties are dominated by merlot (70%), supplemented by Cabernet Franc (20%), cabernet sauvignon (9%) and Carmenere (1%).
The winemaking
Thermoregulated stainless steel tanks in wood, cement and stainless steel.
The aging
18 to 24 months in 100% new barrels.
The blend
Merlot (90%), cabernet franc (7%), cabernet sauvignon (3%).
