Millésime de challenge, 2018 nevertheless announces the birth of a very great year for Château Meyney, located in the Saint-Estèphe appellation, on the left bank of Bordeaux. .
After a start to the year marked by large water surpluses, the very beautiful summer with radiant sunshine until the date of the harvest allowed us to obtain the best. At Château Meyney, the harvest began with the Merlots on September 24, and ended with the Cabernets on October 12, 2018. Each variety was of dazzling quality.
Fruit of a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (42%), supplemented by Merlot (40%) and Petit Verdot (18%), Château Meyney 2018 bears the signature of the great red wines of Saint-Estèphe by being endowed with a great potential for the future.
Wine Advocate-Parker:
The deep garnet-purple 2018 Meyney gives up cassis, dark berries and plums on the nose with earth and spice, fried herbs and lots of oak. The big, full-bodied palate has promising fruit but is a little harsh and oaky.
