Château Malmaison produces its great wine from 24 hectares of vines planted in the 1970s. They occupy clay-limestone soils where the limestone substrate is exposed, that is to say a terroir favorable to the two grape varieties of this cuvée, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, the second representing a fifth of the cuvée. The harvest is manual and followed by a drastic sorting to vinify only the most beautiful fruits. Vinification takes place in thermo-regulated stainless steel vats before a long aging of 16 months which takes place for 40% in new barrels and for the rest in barrels of one wine.
