Michel Rolland's property and one of his best yet. Notes of spices and black fruits and a sumptuous texture. The tannins are abundant but really good. Freshness and length on the finish. Harmonious. The wine, generous and seductive, is characterized by powerful aromas of ripe fruit and by a beautiful and solid tannic structure. It can be kept for 20 years or more in great vintages. Very regular, Fontenil has been one of the best wines of its appellation for more than a decade and generally offers an interesting quality/price ratio. The nose is fruity, aromatic, quite greedy and offers a certain freshness. It reveals notes of blackberry, blackcurrant and liquorice associated with touches of menthol as well as a fine/discreet note of violet and blueberry. The mouth is fruity, balanced, well structured and offers freshness, density, a little tension as well as a nice silky substance. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of cherry, blackberry and blackcurrant associated with a hint of black cherry as well as fine touches of spices, tobacco, zan and oak. The tannins are fine and well developed. Good length and persistence. Good potential!
